A leading innovator, practitioner, educator, and trainer in Enterprise Architecture (EA) and related topics in the public and private sector for nearly 2 decades, Dr. Steve Else has many roles in the global strategic transformation community. The Founder and CEO of EA Principals, Inc. (EAP) and Decisive Strategies, Inc. (DSI) (both under the umbrella of Public-Private Enterprise, Inc.), Steve wrote his doctoral thesis on "Organization Theory and the Transformation of Large, Complex Organizations", which was published in 2010 as a book.
In addition to running EAP and DSI, he has established and leads the Enterprise and Solution Architecture Institute (ESAII) (under Center for Public-Private Enterprise, -- CPPE, which he founded in 1998). ESAII expands his professional outreach globally and will also allow for bringing together experts to mentor students on complex, innovative enterprise solutions approaches (going beyond just the enterprise architecture part of value delivery).
ESAII offers 3 levels of certification in EA and/or Enterprise Solutions Architecture (ESA) through its global offerings: Associate Certified Enterprise Architect, Certified Enterprise Architect and Master Certified Enterprise Architect or Master Certified Enterprise Solution Architect. In addition, ESAII is the owner of the EA Professional Journal.
Steve is committed to helping cross-pollinate best business and technology practices as well as innovation across the government and between the government and the private sector, and other organizations. As part of his work at CPPE, he founded and is executive editor for The Government Transformation Journal and was the founder and first executive editor of The EA Zone Journal.
Bringing a wealth of practical and academic experience to his EA and TOGAF® Certification Training, (TOGAF 9 Certified and having trained over 1000 professionals), he is also an ISEB Certified Enterprise and Solutions Architect, a Project Management Professional (PMP®), and a FEAC Certified Enterprise Architect (CEA).
Steve has served in key EA consulting/practitioner roles in both the private and public sectors, including BAE Systems, CSC, Dynamics Research Corporation, and Synectics for Management Decisions in the private sector; and the Departments of Defense, Homeland Security, Transportation, and Health and Human Services in the public sector.
Teaching Enterprise Architecture, Business Intelligence, Information Systems Engineering Management, and Systems Engineering at the graduate level is a way Steve also contributes his knowledge and insights. He has also taught Systems Analysis and Design, Technology Forecasting and Assessments, Knowledge Management, and Project and Change Management over the span of several years.
A passionate participant in EA, IT and systems engineering professional communities, Steve is the Founder and Chair of the Washington DC Metropolitan Area Chapter of the Association of Enterprise Architects and the Chair of the Intelligent Enterprises Working Group at the International Council on Systems Engineering (http://INCOSE.org ).
